Answer for NRS 493 Capstone Project Change Proposal Presentation

Evidence-based change projects’ primary objective is searching for knowledge to improve clinical practice. Largely, these projects are solution-centered since they look for solutions facing health practice. My presentation was on nurse incivility. After in-depth research on the causes and impacts, I presented the most effective ways of addressing nurse incivility and possible outcomes. This presentation provided a background of the problem (nurse incivility), the proposed solution (implementing zero-tolerance policies), and a literature review to show evidence sources. Other sections include the project’s objectives, resources needed for successful implementation, anticipated outcomes, and evaluation.  The project’s basic tenet is that quality health care is a right that every citizen deserves and, if nurses work cohesively, they can meet the desired health outcomes as they ensure that patients’ problems are addressed appropriately.

Like many other EBP projects, guidance from the preceptor is always necessary to ensure that the presentation achieves the desired results. There were no major changes proposed apart from the need to cover the priority areas. In EBP projects, the attention should be on the impacts of the project on health outcomes. Stakeholders should be convinced that the project will bring positive outcomes so that they (stakeholders) can commit resources, time, cooperation, and all the needed support to realize the project’s objectives. By concentrating on the priority areas, the collaboration ensured that the project is convincing. Audience’s major issues included the time taken to ensure that such a project achieve the desired results since it is all about behavior change. Also, the drawbacks of the intervention should be known to enable the administration and other stakeholders to make adjustments where necessary. This experience will make me a more experienced change agent in health practice in the future. The knowledge gained will be the basis for initiating change projects.
